Miroku/Sango Recommendation:

Title: Sting.
Rating: M
Site: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4163105/1/Sting
Description: Miroku and Sango's adventures in demon hunting. A comfort fic most notable for its mediocrity.

A note from starzki: I'm putting this link here because I know many us of pay more attention to livejournal than we do to what's going on over at ff.net. It's a good fic. :)

Secret (Mir/)Santa?

Hey all!

It's getting to be that time (the most wonderful, so says the song) of the year.

Last year, the Secret Mir/Santa gift fic exchange went really well, so I was thinking that we should continue the tradition.

However, time this year is already short, so maybe we could make it a drabble exchange, instead.

But before we get into details, is anyone even interested?

Summer Exchange fics due!!

I... don't think I've posted here before. If you don't know who I am, I'm Lucy, beta reader of death and procrastination, MirSan addict, really quiet mod of the_chasms, etc etc etc. Margo asked me to put up the submission post for the Summer Exchange, so here I am, and here it is.

Please post a link to your completed Summer Exchange fic in a comment to this post with the following information:

Summer Exchange - Dates Being Moved!

Due to the fact that only five people so far have signed up for the Summer Exchange, I am extending the sign-ups until July 14th, on which date the assignments will be sent out. The due date will also be moved back to August 14th.

Please be sure to tell any of your friends who may be interested in participating about this exchange! Remember, the more people involved, the more fanfic to read in the end.

If you're interested in participating but haven't signed up yet, please visit this post to do so as soon as possible.

The MiroSan Summer Exchange - Opening Requests Post

Hello all!

I'm sure a lot of you remember last year's Secret MiroSanta. Well, guess what? It's finally summer, school is letting out, and it's time for another round of MiroSan fiction! May I have the pleasure of introducing...

The Miroku Sango Fanfic Summer Exchange!

If you are interested in participating, please leave a comment on this post by noon PST on July 14th listing the following information:

LJ Username:
I Want to Read: (Genres, details)
Please Don't Include:
Max Rating:
Any Prompts: (Optional, up to four.)

Prompts are to help inspire the person assigned to write for you, in the case that they have difficulty coming up with ideas. The muses are stingy creatures, if you know what I mean. However, writers are not required to use these prompts if they have ideas of their own.

Also, if you are used to writing for a particular genre or have other particularities about your own work, feel free to mention that as well so that I can take that into consideration.

The entire point of this fanfic exchange is to write Miroku/Sango fanfiction, of which there is a sad dearth of within the fandom. We, being the fans we are, would like to amend this, which is why we are hosting this exchange. This is also why pairings other than Miroku/Sango are not accepted as the focus of your fanfiction in this exchange, should you choose to participate, though they may be secondary.

Next, to participate, you are not required to be a member of the_chasms, though we strongly encourage you to join. If you are not a member and you do want to join in, feel free to submit your request, but please be certain that you will be able to fulfill the obligation of writing a fanfic for someone else by the posting deadline. Actually, this applies to everyone, and I cannot emphasize the importance of this enough.

If you did not complete your submission for the Secret MiroSanta 2006, you will not be permitted to participate in this round unless you complete your last assignment by the request submission deadline (July 14th).

Once all of the requests are in, assignments will be sent out by email on July 15th. You will have a month to write your assigned fanfiction before the submission deadline, August 14th, on which date an entry will be posted where you will be able to comment with a link to your story. Periodic reminders will be sent out through July and early August to everyone, and after the submission deadline to those who do not post their fanfics.

For those curious, or still unsure of whether or not they want to join in, the submissions we received for the MiroSanta can be found here. As you can see, we have a great number of talented writers in this community, many of whom have already expressed interest in participating in this exchange. You will not be receiving a badly written story if you do participate!

On a final note, feel free to tell your writing friends about this exchange! More participants means more fanfic, and that's always a good thing. (Especially when your niche in fandom borders on neglected sometimes.) solichan is in the midst of creating a banner for you to post to your own journal(s), so look for that over the next few days.

Thank you for reading this lengthy post, and I hope to see you as part of the MiroSan Summer Exchange!

I have good news.

I'm currently taking a break from writing the last scene of The Opposite of Attraction. So far, the chapter is over 8,700 words in length - I've been working on this all day instead of my much more important original story. I may expand some bits and pieces before I post it - it depends on what advice lucindathemaid gives me after I send it to her tomorrow morning, I suppose. I'm feeling a bit too sleepy right now to know for sure.

Anyway, I'm guessing that you guys are probably interested in a sneak-peek. Am I right?

If so, here's a tidbit for the curious soul...Collapse )

Feel free to tell me what you thought! Feedback is, as always, greatly appreciated.

Let's Help Cori Write!

All right. Here we are, well into 2007, and Corisu hasn't been on the scene. Heck, she doesn't even have a tag in this community yet! So, in order to kick start her and get her into motion, she is making this weirdly third-person post.

I'm accepting one-shot requests! But not just any one-shot requests, oh, no. I want you to dig down deep and find that stuff that you would never dare ask anyone to write, but that you'd gladly write for yourself. (No, this does not mean porn.) Have you ever watched a show and had a sudden mind-movie about something that would never happen in the series, but made you want it to happen all the same?

Well, kick start me in motion with some of your guilty, goofy fantasies!

I'll be accepting requests starting today until midnight, April 13. (Friday the 13th, spooky~) Each person can make up to two requests, in the format below:

Email Addy:
What I want:
Maximum rating tolerable? (G-NC-17):
What Cori can take liberties with:
AU or Non-AU preferred?:
Anything else?:

I will write for IY, Harry Potter, Ouran High School Host Club, Saiyuki, and Fruits Basket.

If things go as they should, all requests will be filled by May 5. So, who's for helping me get back on the scene? Goodness knows I need to write more. *slinks onto corner and hides from the Margo*

(I may X-post this to my own journal.  Putting this up on ff.net is another possibility.)

Title: Feline

Pairing: Mir/San
Summary: Had you asked him before he met Sango, Miroku would have sworn he preferred dogs.  Drabble.

haha. ha. ha. I'm totally gonna regret this decision buuuuuut...

I am taking drabble requests.

sort of.

this is probably very complicated/confusing/STUPID and I'm doing this off the top of my head, but please bear with me if you're going to request something. if not... this kinda doesn't apply to you.

this is how it's gonna work:Collapse )

Sample form

Name: Evelyn Nesbit
Email: suchandsuch@thissite.com
Prompt words: Candlelight; Shy that way
The "just in case" prompt: Physiology
Preferences: so and so/this person, fluff, plot, angst, whatever

Letters RemainingCollapse )

by the way: I'm most comfortable writing M/S or the Inuyasha fandom in general, but I'm willing to write for the Full Metal Panic!, Ouran High School Host Club, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and Azumanga Daioh fandoms. and for the IY fandom, I'll try an alt. pairing as long as it doesn't clash with M/S. [it's a thing.]

p.s. please read the comment response I left below and if you got my literary reference somewhere up there, you win a cookie.

(no subject)

*crawls out from under a stack of history books covered in dust and ink*

Oh my God... Oh my God. Fourth year sucks ass! I have six papers due within the next 3 months, 2 exams, work, and a play to put on, and my regular homework to contend with.

And then I have to feed my addiction to Sango/Miroku fanfiction. I mean, I'm losing weight over stress (thank God I'm too paranoid to eat unhealth-e-lee, or I'd really be in a fix) and yet, I can't stop writing MS! Make the bad man stop! Somebody, take my pens away from me!

But that being said, I am not happy if I'm not writing something. Over the Christmas break, a plot bubble I'd been bouncing around for awhile finally popped, showering me with ideas and rabid plot bunnies and giggles. And smoochies. Poor boyfriend... I probably completely and utterly abused him and I don't even remember it... (God I love you!). However, it seems that my attempts at beta-ing my own work has proved... shoddy as of late. I'm looking for a beta for this story (Aamalie, had you been online rather than brandishing your PS2 memory card in my face I would have told you all about it, but instead you chose to play KH2, and thus prove to me the uselessness of my PS2 without a proper memory card, so pooh on you! *kisses*). I'm not in a rush, you can take your time, and I can send you the two chapters I have done out of the total three I have planned.

Because I don't know if everyone knows, my MSN is fluffy@walrus@hotmail.com and AIM is FluffOtaku. Feel free to contact me that way or with an email. Basically, first come, first served.

Also, in non-MS news, I need a beta for a short story. This one would be rush (as soon as I can find time to work on it), so please let me know if you're interested in that.

But back to MS news. Holy mother of God! And entire plot arc dedicated to Houshi-sama and Sango? Has Takahashi-sama finally realized the large ranks of devoted followers these two possess? Please, let Emmie be wrong and let this not be a sign of their upcoming crushing, heart-wrenching defeat! PLEASE!

Gah! Someone make the bad man stop! *runs around like a chicken with her head cut off thinking of the fluffy possibilities*

Secret MiroSanta Request Post

The Secret (Miro)Santa!

(Feel free to groan at the pun. ^_^)

If you are interested in participating, please leave a comment listing the following before noon PST on December 6th:

Genre(s) I Want to Read:
Please Don't Include:
Max Rating:
Any Prompts: (Optional, up to four.)

Prompts are to help your writer in case they're short on ideas as to where to start. Muses can get stingy on deadlines, you know.

Please note that the entire point of this will to be exchange Mir/San fanfics, which is why there is no pairing option, and you do not have to be a member of the_chasms to participate - though you're certainly more than welcome to join.

The person you will be playing MiroSanta for will be assigned to you by email on the afternoon of the 6th. On the 25th, (that's Christmas) an entry will be posted where you will be able to post a link to your story and who its for. Please do not post it before the 25th, and the final deadline is the 31st. Anything later than that will be reason for aamalie to be emo at you. ^.~

As for length, please aim for something along the lines of a typical oneshot. It doesn't have to be an epic, but mere drabbles are discouraged.

Also, on a final note, if you know of anyone who might be interested in participating, please, invite them over. This is a little short notice, so we're relying on word-of-mouth to get people involved.

^_^ Enjoy.

iy | I can stand up straight

Hello, everyone.

I come to you with an idea that has been tossed around at random intervals amongst some of the group for a while now. That is, a Miroku/Sango themed Secret Santa/giftfic round to celebrate the holidays - and provide lots of new reading material to brighten up everyone's day.

I figure that everyone interested in giving and recieving would write up a wishlist listing the genres they'd like to see, the rating they'd prefer and maybe a few prompts/suggestions to give the author for you an idea of what you'd like to see or a place to start from if their muse is lagging. Basically, it'd be like a round of flashfic, for those of you who are familiar with it.

The 'due date' would probably be more of a 'due period', extending from the 25th of December to New Year's, in sympathy for those of us who are students and have finals and lots of projects due right up until the Friday before Christmas...if you know what I mean.

I know it's a bit short notice, but if we could have this all set up before the 5th, that'd be awesome.

If anyone is interested, please feel free to comment and let me know whether or not this idea is feasible or not and if it's worth going through with. Including the other chasms girls. And if you know of someone who isn't a member that might be interested, feel free to invite them over. ^_^ The more the merrier, right?

I'll probably cross-post this to my own journal, and if there is a high enough interest, possibly to the sango_miroku community. We'll see.

Happy Holidays!

Also: If anyone isn't interested in writing, but would like to help out, we will probably need someone who is not involved to figure out who writes for who and send out all of the assignments if this goes through. =)

OA15 Updated

...Is it just me, or is ff.net's email system currently teh suck right now?

Anyway, The Opposite of Attraction has been updated and the new chapter is posted here. Enjoy, and don't forget to tell me what you thought of it. ^.~

There are still about two chapters left (one, even, if it works out) and hopefully I'll have them done in a reasonable amount of time.

OA Status

Okay, so, I really, really am almost done typing out the next chapter of The Opposite of Attraction. Really. Mostly because I realized that November is like, in just a few days, and since I want to participate in Nanowrimo and actually update this before December... But that's beside the point.

The point is, I have one more scene to type out, and then it's beta'able. (*cough*lucindathemaid, who will actually beta it this time*cough*) The fact that this scene is the one that needs the most editing because I'm not very happy with it isn't really that important. After all, it's a very crucial scene (in my opinion), so making it perfect is something that needs to be done. ^_^

As for my other stories... Well, as I believe I've said before, my main focus right now is getting this sucker done, not to mention my original story that I'm working on for my senior project. Sanctuary and Drifting will be completed in due time. Whenever that is.

Okay, so, back to work.

A teaser will probably be posted at some point tomorrow. Friends-locked, as always. ^_^
